A man has been treated in hospital after being assaulted in West Lothian.
The 40-year-old was walking near to Kirkgate in West Calder when he was approached by a man and assaulted.
The incident happened around 1pm on Monday.
He was rushed to St John’s Hospital for treatment.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Constable Robert Gilmour of CID said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the assault to get in touch with police.
“Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 1553 of Monday, October 3.”
