Police are looking for a man who performed a solo sex act while ‘staring’ at a woman on a train.

Detectives from the British Transport Police are appealing for information about the incident which occurred on a service between Edinburgh Waverley and Dunblane.

Between 11.30am and 12.20pm on Thursday, February 8 a woman noticed the man ‘staring’ at her while performing the act on the Larbert to Stirling train.

The woman challenged the man before leaving the carriage and he left the train at Stirling station.

He is described as white, of slim build, and between 35 to 40 years of age, with short fair hair and was wearing dark coloured round glasses.

Police say he was wearing a blue jacket with a red puffer style jacket with a checked shirt underneath.

He was also wearing blue jeans and carrying a black and grey rucksack with a white ‘Nike’ logo.

A British Transport Police statement read: “Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with them to assist the investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2400016948 of 08/02/24.”
