An arrest has been made after a man was allegedly stabbed at a block of high rise flats in Fife.

The incident is said to have taken place at Broomhead Flats in Dunfermline.

Around seven police vans and an ambulance were in attendance at the scene on Broomhead Drive at around 8.20pm on Tuesday.

Officers confirmed that a 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged with serious assault in connection with the incident.

He is expected to appear at court on Wednesday.

The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment to reported stab wounds. His current condition is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at Broomhead Drive in Dunfermline at around 8.20pm on Tuesday, 24 May, 2022.

“A 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the serious assault of a man. The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“A man is expected to appear at Dunfermilne Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 25 May, 2022”
