A suspect has appeared in court charged with murder after a man was allegedly stabbed outside Edinburgh’s Banana Flats.
Emergency services and armed police officers were called to a disturbance outside Cables Wynd House around 9.40pm on Sunday.
Barry Gilgun, 35, was found seriously injured and taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he later died.
Jake Mackay appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, charged with murder, carrying a bladed weapon in a public place and perverting the course of justice.
The 33-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody.
He is due to make his second appearance within eight days.
