A man has been rushed to hospital after being found seriously injured in an Edinburgh garden.

The 43-year-old was rushed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after crews were called to Whitson Road at around 9.30pm on Friday July 17.

His condition is described as serious but stable.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.30pm on Friday, 17 July, 2026, we received a report of a 43-year-old man found injured in a garden in the Whitson Road area of Edinburgh.

“Police and ambulance attended and he was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances. Anyone with information that may assist should contact 101 quoting incident number 3838 of 17 July.”
