A man has died in hospital after suffering an injury at a quarry.

Emergency services were called to the Langside Quarry in Kennoway, Fife, following reports of an injured man on site at around 9am on October 17.

The 29-year-old was airlifted to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment, however, he later died.

Police Scotland has confirmed an investigation is ongoing and that the Health and Safety Executive has been made aware.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 9am on Thursday, 17 October, to a report of a man injured at a commercial premises on Langside Road in Kennoway.

“A 29-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he later died.

“Enquiries are ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive is aware.”
