A man has died two days after a motorcycle crash at a national racing circuit in Fife.
Chris Adam was seriously injured on track at the Knockhill racing circuit, Dunfermline, on May 19.
The 38-year-old was participating in a track day, which is when members of the public can take their own car or motorcycle to drive on the circuit.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 12.10pm, and Mr Adam was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy by ambulance.
He died in hospital two days later, on May 21.
In a post on social media, his brother Blair wrote: “It’s with the heaviest of hearts I’m writing this as my brother, Chris Adam has sadly past away today after succumbing to his injuries sustained on Friday during his track day at Knockhill.
“Rest easy brother.”
Inspector James Henry of Fife Road Policing said: “On Friday, May 19, 2023, officers were made aware of a crash on track at Knockhill racing circuit, Dunfermline, involving a motorbike.
“The incident happened around 12.10pm and a 38-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy where he died on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man at this difficult time. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
