A man has died in a hit-and-run crash in West Lothian.
The collision happened just after midnight on Sunday on Main Street in Linlithgow when a grey Renault Clio struck the pedestrian.
Emergency services attended and the 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are trying to piece together what happened. The driver of the car failed to stop.
Inspector Thomas Mallinson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.
“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and trace the occupants of the car.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to contact police.
“In addition, anyone with dash-cam footage from around the time of the incident is asked to get in touch as this may be able to assist our investigation.”
