A 22-year-old man will appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

A man in Fife has been charged with sending a racist message to footballer Yannick Bolasie.

The 22-year-old is accused of posting a racially-aggravated message online about the Everton player, who is currently on loan at Middlesbrough.

Bolasie is a Democratic Republic of Congo international player.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a racially aggravated comment posted online.

“He is expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Wednesday, March, 17.”
