Man charged with attempted murder after two people injured in 'stabbing'

A 38-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were taken to hospital for treatment after the incident in Fife.

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after two people were injured during an alleged stabbing incident in Fife on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the Lawrence Court in Buckhaven at around 6.55pm following reports of a serious assault.

A 38-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.

Officers arrested Derry Nelson in connection with the incident.

The 31-year-old appeared Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court charged with attempted murder, assault to injury and carrying a bladed weapon in a public place.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody.

Nelson is due back in court within the next eight days.
