A man has been charged with attempted murder after another man suffered chainsaw injuries in an incident in West Lothian.
Emergency services were called to Rowan Place in Blackburn at around 10.10pm last Wednesday.
The injured 35-year-old man was taken to hospital.
David Scott appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday in connection with the incident.
He was charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and attempted murder.
The 23-year-old made no plea and will return to court at a later date.
