SNS GroupA man has been charged following the death of a dog on Portobello Beach.
A chihuahua died at the scene after an alleged attack by another dog last month.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 50-year-old man has been charged in connection with an incident involving dogs at Portobello Beach, Edinburgh.
“The incident was reported as a dog attacking another dog around 12pm on Friday, October 16.
“One dog died at the scene.”
A report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court next week.
