A man has been charged nine months after an NHS worker was killed in a crash involving a car and lorry on the M8.
Emergency services were called to the carriageway near Junction 1, outside Edinburgh, on December 18, 2023, after a HGV collided with a Kia Sorento.
The driver of the car, a 41-year-old Eve Brown from Bellshill, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed on Wednesday that a 58-year-old man has been been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences following the fatal crash involving the mum-of-two.
The man is expected to appear in court at a later date.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A 58-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences following a fatal crash on the M8 near junction 1.
“The crash happened around 9.10am on Monday, December 18, 2023 involving a HGV and a car.
“The driver of the car, a 41-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The man is due to appear at court at a later date.”
