A man has been charged in connection with the death of a man following an alleged assault in South Queensferry.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Morison Gardens around 6.10am on Friday.

A 54-year-old man died at the scene.

Police are currently treating the death as suspicious, and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

A 58-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

As of Saturday morning, Morison Gardens remains closed, along with a partial closure of Stewart Terrace, while investigations are carried out.

Additional patrols will continue to be carried out in the area to offer reassurance to the local community. Anyone with concerns can approach these officers
