A man has been charged in connection with a flat fire that broke out in Fife on Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to Landel Street in the Markinch area of Glenrothes at around 9.25pm.
The incident occurred within the kitchen of an upper-floor flat.
Two fire engines were dispatched to the scene, however, by the time they arrived the flames had been extinguished.
Crews left the area after ensuring it was safe. No one was injured during the fire.
Officers have charged a 36-year-old man in connection with the incident. He was due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.25pm on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, we were called to a report of a fire at a flat on Landel Street in Markinch, Glenrothes.
“Emergency services attended and there are no reported injuries.
“A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.
“He was due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
