A 63-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with “threatening and abusive behaviour” at an anti-immigration protest outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in Falkirk.

The incident occurred during a demonstration outside the Cladhan Hotel on Kemper Avenue on Saturday September 13.

He is expected to appear in court at a later date.

Saturday marked the latest in a series of demonstrations held in recent weeks by Save Our Future and Our Kids Futures.

Dozens of anti-immigration protesters rallied outside the hotel while a counter-protest led by Stand Up To Racism and other groups had formed in response.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 63-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with threatening and abusive behaviour following a protest on Kemper Avenue in Falkirk on Saturday, September 13 2025.

“He has been released on undertaking to appear in court at a later date.”
