Man charged after 'stabbing' left woman in hospital 

A man has been charged after the alleged stabbing of a woman in Edinburgh.

Emergency services were called to Muirhouse Park at around 5.20am on Wednesday after a 43-year-old woman was seriously assaulted.

She was taken to hospital for treatment of her stab wounds.

Police confirmed on Wednesday that a 52-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the assault.

The force said the incident is being treated as “isolated” and added there is no wider risk to the public.

The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.
