Man charged after motorcyclist injured in rush hour crash with van

A motorcyclist is in hospital after a crash involving a van in Midlothian.

Police were called to a collision involving two vehicles at around 8am on Tuesday, May 14 on Melville Dykes Road in Lasswade.

The 54-year-old driver of the motorbike was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

A 34-year-old man was charged in connection with road traffic offences and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage of the incident, to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0617 of Tuesday, May 14, 2024.”
