A man has been charged after a cannabis farm worth £900,000 was seized by police in the Scottish Borders.

Officers made the discovery on Thursday after searching a premises in an industrial estate on Coldingham Road, Eyemouth.

A large cannabis cultivation with an estimated street value of £900,000 was found within the premises.

Police said a 47-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the cultivation.

He is due to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Friday.

The force is urging anyone with information regarding drugs in their area to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Barry Roebuck said: “We know the misery that drug misuse can cause in our local communities and we work tirelessly to tackle this issue and disrupt the drugs trade in Scotland.

“This significant recovery underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
