A man has been charged after police seized cannabis from a property in Edinburgh.

Officers searched an address on Broomhouse Place North on Wednesday morning where they discovered the haul of drugs.

Police said the drugs, both herbal and plants, have an estimated street value of £303,000.

A 28-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with the discovery.

He is set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland: “Around 9am on Wednesday, May 8 2024, whilst executing a warrant at an address on Broomhouse Place North, Edinburgh, officers from Edinburgh South West Community Policing Team discovered controlled drugs, believed to be cannabis, both herbal and plants, with an estimated street value of £303,000.

“A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, May 9, 2024.

“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
