Google MapsA man has been charged after an 18-year-old woman was allegedly raped near a playpark in Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to reports of a woman being seriously sexually assaulted in the Montgomery Street area at around 10.30pm on Tuesday, April 29.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.
A Police Scotland statement read: “A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious sexual assault in Edinburgh.
“On Tuesday, April 29 we received a report of an assault on a 18-year-old woman in the Montgomery Street Park area of the capital.
“The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, May 22, 2025.”
