A man has been arrested for an alleged breach of the peace during the procession carrying the Queen’s coffin through Edinburgh.

The 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident on the city’s Royal Mile on Monday afternoon as members of the Royal Family walked behind the hearse towards St Giles’ Cathedral.

Footage allegedly appeared to show a man heckling the procession as it went past.

Police Scotland said a 22-year-old man had been arrested “in connection with a breach of the peace on the Royal Mile”.
