Google MapsA man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman found dead in a Scottish Borders during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to the property on Windram Road in Chirnside following reports of a seriously injured woman at around 4.35am.
A 31-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have been made aware.
The death is being treated as unexplained by investigators, however, a 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.35am on Sunday, 9 February, 2025, we received a report of a woman seriously injured within a property on Windram Road, Chirnside, Duns.
“Emergency services attended, however, the 31-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.
“Her next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
“A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death.
“A police presence will remain in the area while we carry out investigations and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers.”
