Man arrested after teenagers injured in alleged Edinburgh attack

Officers say an investigation is ongoing after a 17-year-old and 19-year-old suffered 'minor injuries' in the incident.

A man has been charged in connection with an alleged attack on two teenagers in the centre of Edinburgh.

Crews from the Scottish Ambulance Service and Police Scotland rushed to North Bridge in the early hours of Tuesday morning amid reports of a “disturbance”.

A 19-year-old man and 17-year-old woman were treated by paramedics at the scene, however their injuries were described as “minor”.

An investigation has since been launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident but officers say a 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged.

He will now appear at Edinburgh Sheriff court later this week.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.25am on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, police were called to a report of a disturbance on North Bridge, Edinburgh.

“A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman suffered minor injuries during the incident and received treatment at the scene. 

“A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.”

They added: “He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff court on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.”
