A man has been arrested after a teenager was raped near a pavilion in Midlothian.
Police were called to Waverley Park Pavilion in Bonnyrigg at around 1.30am on Saturday after receiving reports that a 18-year-old woman had been the victim of a serious sexual assault.
Officers confirmed on Sunday that a 18-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.
Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “An 18-year-old man has been arrested following a report of the serious sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman near to Waverley Park Pavilion, Bonnyrigg, around 1.30am on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
