A 27-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.
Police were called to High Street in Leslie, Fife, at around 10.50am last Wednesday after a 28-year-old man was found seriously injured.
Emergency services attended the scene and the man was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment.
Ryan McLay appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court in connection with the incident on Tuesday.
He made no plea and the case was committed for further examination.
McLay, of Glenrothes, was remanded in custody and will appear again within the next eight days.
