A man and his three dogs were rescued from the Fife shoreline after a fall left him stranded as floodwaters approached.
Emergency services were called out just before 11am on Monday following reports of a dog walker who had fallen from rocks near Pettycur Beach near Kinghorn.
Coastguard rescue teams from Kinghorn, Leven, and South Queensferry, along with police, ambulance and the fire service attended the scene.
The Kinghorn RNLI lifeboat was on the scene within minutes and carried out a casualty assessment; however, the team had to work quickly as the man was near the water’s edge, which was rising.
The crew moved the man to a higher position and away from the rising flood water.
A social media post read: “We were on scene two minutes after launch and one of our crewmembers went ashore to carry out a casualty care assessment.
“The casualty was near the water’s edge with an incoming flood tide. The casualty was initially moved higher up the rocks, away from the water.”
After this, the man was placed on a stretcher, carried along the rocks, and handed over to the waiting ambulance.
The rescue came on the tail end of Storm Boelo, which brought strong winds, heavy rain and severe flooding to many coastal areas around Scotland.
