Man, 65, seriously injured after motorcycle crash

A man has been left in a serious condition following a motorcycle crash in the Scottish Borders on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the B6357 at Bonchester Bridge, south east of Hawick at around 1pm after reports of a collision involving a bronze BMW R1250 motorbike.

The rider, a 65-year-old man, was taken to hospital where his condition has been described as serious.

The road was closed for a short time.

Investigators are asking those with information to come forward.

Sergeant Michael Shillington said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking any other road users on the B6357 around the time of the crash to get in touch.

“Please check any dash-cam you have to see if anything has been captured that could assist with our investigation.”
