A 56-year-old man is in hospital after being attacked in broad daylight in West Lothian.
The incident happened at around 2.50pm on August 20, in the Wood Place area near Eliburn, Livingston.
The 56-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to St John’s Hospital in Livingston for treatment.
His current condition is unknown.
Officers are appealing to find two men as part of their ongoing investigation into the assault.
The first is described as being white, aged between his early to mid-twenties, 5ft 11in, slim build. He was wearing dark clothing.
The second male is described as white, also aged between his early to mid-twenties, 5ft 11in, slim build. He was wearing a blue hooded top.
Detective constable Alan Gibson said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about those involved to get in touch.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 2134 of August 20 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
