Man, 22, charged in connection with death of 80-year-old found injured

A man is due to appear in court charged in connection with the death of an 80-year-old in Fife.

Emergency services responded to reports of a man seriously injured in the Dunecht Court area of Glenrothes around 3.20am on Saturday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, with police confirming the death is being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death.

“He is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday, November 2, 2026.”
