Major emergency response after incident in West Lothian

A major emergency response has been launched in West Lothian following reports of a shooting.

Police and ambulance crews were pictured at the scene in a residential area of Armadale at around 2pm on Saturday, September 12.

Forensic officers were seen at an address on Harestanes Road, with nearby Brown Street was taped off.

An air ambulance helicopter was also deployed to the town at around 1pm.

Meanwhile, firefighters were called to reports of a car fire on Northrigg Road at around 12.40pm, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed.

It is not yet known whether the incidents are linked.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
