M9 closed after rush hour crash as drivers face significant delays

The M9 has been closed following a rush-hour crash on Tuesday.

Traffic Scotland issued an alert regarding the incident between junctions six and seven heading southbound at around 7.47am.

The collision has resulted in the busy motorway near Falkirk being shut. Drivers have been warned to expect delays of more than 70 minutes and to use other routes.

Emergency services are in attendance.

The number of vehicles involved and nature of any injuries is not known.
