The M8 was closed in both directions on Tuesday after a cow walked onto the motorway.
A rolling roadblock was initially put in place westbound between junction 4 and 4A after the animal blocked the road at around 6.15pm.
All lanes were re-opened half an hour later after the cow was guided off the road.
An image shared by Traffic Scotland shows the black cow standing stationary in the middle of the carriageway.
A social media post from Traffic Scotland: “We have an intruder on the M8 Westbound between J4-4A.
