A van flipped onto its side following a crash believed to be with a lorry on the M90 on Friday night.
Officers were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision at around 9.45pm on October 28, near junction 2A in Dunfermline.
It is not yet known if anyone was injured as a result.
Reports on social media say the van crashed with a HGV near the Amazon distribution centre in Duloch.
One motorist said they waited in line for close to an hour before the congestion began to clear.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.45pm on Friday, October 28, police were called to a report of a two vehicle road crash on the M90 near to junction 2A, in Dunfermline.
“Officers attended and the vehicles were recovered.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
