A man was taken to hospital after a hit and run incident within an Edinburgh park on Sunday night.

Police were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a 21-year-old pedestrian within Lochend Park at around 8.15pm on April 2.

The car left the scene prior to police arriving and the injured pedestrian was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

A police presence was seen in the area on Sunday night and officers remained at the scene on Monday morning while the park was closed off.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the police.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian within Lochend Park, Edinburgh, around 8.15pm on Sunday, April 2, 2023.

“The car left the scene prior to police arrival and the 21-year-old male pedestrian was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. 

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 3398 of April 2, 2023.”
