Lambswool jumpers worth £2000 stolen from knitwear shop

Luxury lambswool jumpers and cardigans worth £2000 have been stolen from a knitwear shop in the Scottish Borders.

Police are appealing for information following the break-in at William Lockie in Albert Road, Hawick, at around 2.25am on Thursday.

The stolen sweaters were green, grey and blue.

Investigating officers have been carrying out enquiries and checking CCTV in the area.

Detective constable Alexander Blacklock said: “I am appealing to local people in the area to keep an eye out for these jumpers.

“I’m sure the thieves will be hoping to sell them on and make some money but please if you have any information regarding this crime or you know of anyone selling sweaters, please do contact us.”
