Passengers on flight from Scots airport removed by police over 'disruptive' behaviour

A Jet2 flight to Turkey was forced to land in Cologne due to 'disruptive' behaviour

Two passengers were escorted off a plane by police after a Jet2 flight from Edinburgh was diverted to Germany.

The aircraft was bound for Dalaman in Turkey before the pilot made an emergency landing in Cologne on October 8 due to “disruptive passenger behaviour”.

German officers then boarded flight LS781 and offloaded two passengers from the craft.

However, the return journey from Dalaman to the Scottish capital was forced to make a night stop due to the unscheduled diversion to Cologne.

Jet 2 has confirmed that accommodation and refreshments were organised for those impacted.

A spokesperson said: “We can confirm that flight LS781 from Edinburgh to Dalaman diverted to Cologne yesterday (Tuesday, October 8) due to disruptive passenger behaviour.

“The flight departed for Dalaman after two passengers were offloaded by police, however the subsequent Dalaman to Edinburgh flight had to night stop in Dalaman.

“We have arranged for hotel accommodation and refreshments for everyone and will have them on their way home as soon as possible.”
