James Morrison has become the second act to cancel a headline show at the Kelpies Live.

The move comes days after Scottish rock band The Fratellis announced that they would not be performing on the lawn at Helix Park this weekend either.

The band said the show would not go ahead due to the promoters being “unable to fulfil their commitments to the band to perform”.

James Morrison’s show on Sunday has also now been cancelled, according to XFire’s website. A page on the Kelpie’s Live website regarding the gig has also been removed.

A short statement said the event had been cancelled, and ticket holders would be contacted to discuss “arrangements”.

The concert was meant to celebrate two decades since the release of his debut album, Undiscovered.

A statement on the Fratellis’ Facebook page said: “Unfortunately the promoters have been unable to fulfill their commitments to the band to perform and they have had to therefore take the decision not to appear at the event.”

It appears as if Beluga Lagoon’s performance on Saturday will go ahead.

The event is organised by Kelpies Live and was launched last year to celebrate The Kelpies’ anniversary.

Kelpies Live has been approached for comment.
