An investigation has been launched after a substance was discovered inside a Midlothian police station.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at Dalkeith Police Station at around 10.30am on Friday.
The substance was deemed not to be harmful, and no one was injured.
An investigation to establish the full circumstances is still ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.30am on Friday, August 29, we received a report of a substance found at Dalkeith Police Station, Newbattle Road, Dalkeith.
“Emergency services attended and the substance is not believed to be harmful.
“No one was injured and there was no risk to the wider public.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
