Investigation launched after spree of car thefts in West LothianAdobe Stock

An investigation has been launched after a spree of car thefts in West Lothian earlier this month.

At around 12.50am on February 6, a grey Isuzu pick-up truck was stolen from outside a farm near Carlops Road, Penicuik. Three men were seen in the area at the time wearing dark clothing.

Between February 7 and February 10, a grey Polaris with registration ST20 LGY was stolen from outside a farm near the B718 between Armadale and Blackridge.

At 2.30am on February 8, a flatbed trailer was stolen from outside a property on Cricketfield Place, Armadale. A grey Isuzu truck was seen in the area at the time.

Just before 10pm on Tuesday, February 17, an all-terrain vehicle, large trailer and small trailer were stolen from outside a hotel on Starlaw Road, Bathgate.

Three men were seen in the area at the time wearing dark clothing. The all-terrain vehicle and smaller trailer have since been recovered.

Constable Callum Jackson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who was in these areas at these times who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.

“Similarly, anyone living locally with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which may have captured the thefts should contact us.”

Those with information are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 0492 of February 8 2026.
