A hunt has been launched for two people who attacked a man and left him with serious injuries in Peebles.

Emergency services were called to outside a premises on Northgate at around 8.30pm on Sunday after a 35-year-old was assaulted by two men.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Detective Constable Nicky Batten said: “The incident left the man with serious injuries, and we are keen to trace the men responsible.

“We know that there were people in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident, and I’d ask those who did to come forward with information.

“I am also appealing to those in the local area who have dash-cam footage or private CCTV to please review this to see if it has captured anything of significance.”
