Police are on the hunt for a driver that failed to stop after hitting a dog in Edinburgh.
The nine-month-old cocker spaniel later died from her injuries.
The incident happened on Queen’s Drive at around 7pm on Friday.
Sergeant Stuart Powell said: “The dog’s owner had been walking in Holyrood Park, when the dog started chasing a bird.
“She was struck by the car on Queen’s Drive and the driver of the vehicle didn’t stop at the time.
“I would ask any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, or anyone with information that may help us identify the vehicle involved, to contact officers through 101.”
