Police are hunting for the driver of a black car after two schoolgirls were injured in a hit-and-run in Midlothian.
The girls, aged 12 and 13, were struck on Westhouses Road in Mayfield between 5.20pm and 5.30pm on Friday
Both pedestrians were taken to hospital for treatment and later released.
A black car involved left the scene prior to police arrival, and enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver.
Constable Ryan Prentice said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are keen to trace the driver of the vehicle involved.
“I am asking anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened to get in touch with us. Any drivers with dash-cam footage which may assist our enquiries is also asked to contact us.”
