House ransacked and Audi stolen in East Calder Hogmanay break-in Police Scotland

A house in East Calder was ransacked and an Audi stolen from the scene on Hogmanay.

The home in Langton Grove was broken into on Sunday, December 31, at around 7.45pm as the perpetrators stole possessions including the keys to a red Audi RS3 with the registration XR63 ACH.

The vehicle was stolen and the original plates of the car – GX68 WDZ – were in the boot.

Detectives are hunting a five-door, grey Volkswagen Golf in connection with the theft.

The force said extensive enquiries have been carried out including reviewing CCTV footage but officers are appealing to anyone with doorbell recording equipment in the area to check their footage.

Police Scotland said images captured could help with its investigation.

Detective sergeant John Irvine said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to consider if they noticed anything unusual or suspicious, perhaps people you’ve never seen before.

“If anyone has any doorbell recording equipment, please check it as it could have captured an image which could assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0627 of Monday, January 1, 2023.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
