Hibernian Football Club is set to unveil plans to expand its East Lothian training grounds, including the construction of a dome-covered football pitch.

The club will present details of its plans for its Ormiston facilities at public events in the village itself next month as part of its pre-application procedures.

It will be the first time locals are able to see the proposals, which will include expanding onto agricultural land next to their training centre, at E Mains (CORR).

The plans include increasing the existing training centre, changing rooms and related club facilities, as well as building a dome-covered new artificial football pitch.

New outdoor pitches are also planned alongside a new car park and footpath, lighting and CCTV systems.

The public exhibitions of the plans will be held in The Coalgate, on The Wynd, Ormiston, on April 20 between 4pm and 8pm, with a second showing at the same venue on May 18 between 4pm and 8pm.

People will be able to comment on the plans and provide feedback, which will be given to the club before it considers submitting a formal planning application to East Lothian Council for the changes.

The premiership club has trained at the Ormiston centre for nearly two decades and has been considering expanding the site for over a year, with discussions taking place to strike a land deal.

The public events will be promoted locally with posters and adverts in the local newspaper ahead of time, and the Hibs design team will be on hand at the consultations to answer questions from those attending as well as gathering feedback.
