A four-year-old boy is in hospital after being hit by a car in West Lothian.

At around 6.15pm on Saturday, a red Vauxhall Mokka was being driven south on Langside Drive, Blackridge, when it struck the child.

An ambulance took the boy to Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children where he is being treated for his injuries. Medics describe his condition as stable.

The 44-year-old woman driving the car was not injured.

Constable Darren Gallagher, at the Road Policing Department in West Lothian, is appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who has CCTV or dash cam footage to contact him by phone on 101 quoting incident number 3433 of April 3, 2021.
