The Forth Road Bridge remains closed after police responded to an incident on Tuesday morning.
Officers closed the crossing in both directions after a report of concern for a person around 9.30am.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area or use the Queensferry Crossing.
A Police Scotland statement read: “The Forth Road Bridge is closed in both directions after a report of concern for a person around 9.30am on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
“Motorists should avoid the area.”
Traffic Scotland wrote on X: “Users of the Forth Road Bridge are advised to use the Queensferry Crossing at this time due to a police incident.
“Further updates as we get them.”
