An ex-Scottish Premiership footballer has been found guilty of assaulting his former partner.
Colin Nish had denied attacking his partner by headbutting her to the face during a furious row over money in Musselburgh, East Lothian, earlier this year.
The striker played for Hibernian, Kilmarnock, Dunfermline Athletic and Cowdenbeath and managed Lowland League side Tranent Juniors until earlier this year.
Following a trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, a sheriff failed to believe the retired footballer’s version of events and found him guilty of assault to injury.
He has now been banned from having any contact with the woman for the next 12 months.
He was also fined £500 with a supplement charge of £20.
