Firefighters remain at the scene of a fire at an industrial estate in West Lothian.
Emergency services were called to Livingston’s Brucefield Industrial Estate around 1pm on Saturday following reports of the blaze.
Nine fire engines were sent to the scene, and local residents were urged to keep their windows and doors closed while the incident was brought under control.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident which could be seen as far as Fife.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews remain at the scene nearly 24 hours later to ensure the area is safe.
A spokesperson said: “We still have two appliances in attendance at Livingston’s Brucefield Industrial Estate, with crews working to ensure the area is safe.
“However, people no longer need to avoid the area and nearby homes no longer need to keep windows and doors closed.”
Snag Tights, which operates from a warehouse in the estate, shared on social media that they were “relived” that the fire was extinguished.
On Saturday, they said: “We had word this afternoon that the warehouse opposite Snag was on fire. The blaze is quite big. We know for sure all our people are safe and we’re praying no one in the other buildings is hurt.
“At the moment our stock is safe and fire fighters are working hard to stop the fire. We’ll update as we know more.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Emergency services remain in attendance following a fire at Brucefield Industrial Park, Hutton Square, Bellsquarry, Livingston, which was reported around 1.35pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
“The fire has been contained by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, who are continuing to monitor the premises. There is no risk to the wider public.
“Roads in the surrounding area have since been re-opened. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
