Firefighters battle gorse blaze as field goes up in flames

Firefighters were called to the blaze in East Wemyss shortly before 9pm on Tuesday.

A field went up in flames in Fife.

Firefighters were called to the gorse fire in East Wemyss shortly before 9pm on Tuesday.

The two units from Methil extinguished the blaze in less than an hour.

No one was injured.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We got the call at 8.52pm.

“It was a gorse fire in East Wemyss towards Buckhaven.

“Two appliances were sent from Methil.

“We left the scene at 9.43pm.”
